Very Good Breakfast, do not miss out, probably one of the best Full English brekkies going in the region, no joke, it’s excellent. For me, a shame as supper was no way as good. This doesn’t include the roasts, they are good and if you are not vegetarian, have the soup, make sure the dinner roll is hot, with butter, yum! Then have the roast, table service isn’t happening unless you request. It’s easy to see the staff are excellent and do everything to help, the place gets busy, that’s not a fun environment to work in, I know because I’ve been a waiter and it’s a lot more fun being the cover!

We loved this hotel. We had a lovely room which was very clean and as we arrived it was a heatwave so the air conditioning was a bonus. The breakfast was served in a bright conservatory and was superb. The staff especially in the restaurant were very friendly. It is a dog friendly hotel and our dog was allowed to come with us into the lounge area. The gardens are beautiful, a real asset to the hotel. A short walk from the hotel was a leisure complex with restaurants, a lovely pub and children rides/ Go Karts.

The room was large and we had a great sea view (which I had paid extra for). The bathroom looked as if it had been recently refurbished with new fixtures and fittings - excellent shower and pleased to see that the toiletries supplied were eco-friendly. The room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Staff seemed friendly enough (though we didn't really have much interaction other than booking in & checking out). As we were visiting a friend we didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food.

The staff were great and always helpful, and the location worked well for a trip to East Devon. A short walk to the beach and easy drives to multiple Devon attractions and activities (Kent Cavern, Lyme Regis etc.). Pools were clean and lovely and there was plenty for the kids to do at the hotel - entertainment some nights, play areas and soft play. Great for families!

Stacey

The breakfast was well presented and the waiting staff were super friendly. The room could perhaps do with a view as it is a bit corporate feel but by the same measure I think the location works well for the kitchen as it is an old hotel with bits added on so I think they work with what they have. It works just fine.
